If you're thinking of making June vacation plans this year — you may want to hold off a bit.
Thursday marked the sixth day Fairfax County Public Schools canceled school for the day due to inclement weather.
Once the school system hits day seven, the last day of school will get pushed out.
The last day of the 2013-14 school year is currently scheduled for Friday, June 20. But once the school system reaches seven days of inclement weather cancellations, the last day will be pushed to Monday, June 23.
The school system gets a pass with the eighth cancellation day, if one is necessary, but on day nine, the last day of school will get pushed to Tuesday, June 24, according to Fairfax County Public Schools.
The school system has already canceled two planned holidays. Students will be in class on Feb. 17, which is President's Day, and on April 7, which had been a student holiday/teacher workday.
What do you think about all of these canceled days? How would you feel about the last day of school getting pushed back? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
