Fairfax County Public School Superintendent Jack Dale recently invited parents, students, citizens and school employees to vote on the school system's most important issues as it prepares for childrens' futures.

The top vote-getters already: Later start times, more Advanced Placement options and for teachers to stop "teaching to the test."

Most of us don't have kids in the schools, but please vote anyway. We are all paying $6.1 billion for Fairfax County schools. In McLean, the schools boost our property values.
