Where Do You Shop Small?

Tell us all about your favorite local store and what makes the shopping experience special for you.

By Fay Abrahamsson and Jason Spencer

Saturday, Nov. 30, is Small Business Saturday. For many of us, every day is Small Business Saturday because we head out to our favorite shops for everything from birthday gifts, hardware, books, plants, clothing, pet supplies and more.

Do you shop local and small? Shopping small means buying gifts from local stores or purchasing handmade items.

The reasons many folks shop small include:

  1. It gives them a connection with McLean.
  2. They want the mom-and-pop stores in their town to prosper and grow.
  3. They like to honor and acknowledge the hard work and creativity of local artists and entrepreneurs.
  4. They like to buy something unique or handmade.

With Small Business Saturday coming up — and, hopefully, a bit calmer than Black Friday — Patch would love to know where you like to shop small!
