In celebration of National Yoga Month, Dream Yoga Studio in McLean, Va. will join studios across the country this September in offering a week of free classes.
From "Gentle Yoga" to "Dynamic Yoga," beginners and experienced yogis alike will find a wide variety of classes at Dream from Sept. 6 - 11.
Dream will also host free classes for teenagers and families with young children.
"We are thrilled to be a part of Yoga Month to help expose even more people to yoga and meditation, which are proven practices for optimizing health in body, mind and spirit, said Dream Yoga Director Luann Fulbright, a professional-level yoga instructor and therapist.
"Free and budget classes are essential, especially in today's economy, to help bring children and adults into yoga classes to learn and experience breathing, relaxation and other techniques that can strengthen their bodies and minds, reduce stress and illness, help with pain management, increase energy and confidence, and virtually transform their experience in life," she said.
More than 1,600 yoga studios nationwide will offer a week of free classes this September as part of National Yoga Month, which was designated by the Department of Health and Human Services, according to the Web site of the Yoga Health Foundation.
