  • The lists do not feature specific addresses, such as customer homes. Crews are sent to specific locations to repair devices/equipment on our system that supply homes and businesses.

ORIGINAL STORY 5:59am: Dranesville Supervisor John Foust said that 100 Dominion power trucks will work in McLean, Tysons Corner and Great Falls tomorrow to help restore power to residents who have been without electricity since Friday's violent storm.

An estimated 8,000 McLean residents remain without power. An estimated 2,000 customers in the area had power restored Monday, according to the Dominion Power website.

"I was not satisfied with Dominion’s initial response to the power outage in my district," Foust said. "However, we have been in almost constant contact with their managers and I feel things are getting significantly better. Good progress was made today and, with the extra resources they are bringing in, I expect substantial improvements over the next two days," he said.

Foust himself has been without power at his home since Friday night.

Monday afternoon Sharon Bulova stopped by a McLean neighborhood to see county crews clearing a huge chestnut tree that had crashed over power lines leaving residents in the dark.

"We are driving around to some stops where we are cleaning up," she said standing on Capitol View Drive in the Churchill neighborhood.

She explained that county crews  were helping VDOT clear broken trees and debris from state roads (usually a state job) to make it easier for Dominion Power crews to get in and repair the broken lines.

"It was a terrible storm," said Bulova. Her power was restored Saturday she said.

Neighbor Vincent Megna talked about the frustration of trying to get the county and Dominion Power to come at the same time—one to turn off the power so crews can clear the trees from the lines. Since the trees were cleared today, Megna said he hopes Dominion Power will return tomorrow and restore the power.

Harry Sanchez, another neighbor, said he, his wife and two children are sleeping in their basement and doing "a good amount of grilling before everything goes bad."

Here is more information direct from John Foust's office with helpful phone numbers on coping with the storm's aftermath:
