Superintendent Q-and-A, Charity Dinner at Amoo's, Brush Up on Shakespeare and More

Superintendent Q-and-A: The McLean Citizens Association will hold its winter membership meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Alden Theater, at 1234 Ingleside Drive in McLean. The meeting will feature a question-and-answer session with Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent Karen Garza. More info: 703-442-6601

Charity Dinner at Amoo's: Amoo's House of Kabob, 6271 Old Dominion Drive, McLean, will hold a special charity dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday featuring a collaboration of Filipino and Persian cuisine. A portion of the proceeds will benefit UNICEF's efforts to help Filipino children in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. More information here.

Brush Up on Shakespeare: Experts from the Shakespeare Theatre Co. and the Folger Shakespeare Library will be at the McLean Community Center at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to help fans of the Bard, from casual fans to aficionados. The evening will focus on "The Merry Wives of Windsor" and "Othello" to help you prepare for upcoming performances at the Alden. The event is free. More information here.

Sugarloaf Crafts Festival: The Sugarloaf Crafts Festival kicks off Friday at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly. Check out sculptures, glass, jewelry, and more. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 4320 Chantilly Shopping Center Drive. Get tickets online, or find out more information here.
