Election Day, Family Mediation, Culinary Journey and More This Week in and Around McLean

Five things in and around McLean this week.

Election Day: Tuesday is Election Day. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visit this State Board of Elections page, where you can plug in your address and find your polling place.

Meditation and Basic Buddhism Class: Atisha, a scholar, meditation master and author, will present a teaching, guided meditation and answer questions at a class at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church of Arlington, 601 N. Vermont St. Each class is self-contained and costs $10. More info here.

Go on a Culinary Journey: Chef Seb and the Oveysi family will host a culinary journey "From Tehran to Tangier" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Amoo's on Old Dominion Drive. Reservations required. More info here.

"Foodopoly" Author at Bean Good! Wenonah Hauter, the author of "Foodopoly," will be at Bean Good! The Coffee Pub in Rosslyn starting at 7 p.m. Thursday for a meet and greet, book discussion and book signing. More info here.

Free Family Mediation: Attention families who have a hard time deciding where to go for the holidays. Langley Hill Friends Meeting (Quakers) is hosting an event to help families with too many invitations or divorced or estranged couples with children. Mediators are trained to assis people in resolving tough issues. These sessions start at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. More info here.
