This Week: McLean Holiday Tree Lighting, 'Annie,' Black Friday and More

Five things in and around McLean this week.

Holiday Tree Lighting: The Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce invites you to come out to the lighting of the McLean Holiday Tree at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on Holiday Island (across from Rocco's). Afterward, join your neighbors for hot chocolate at the Preppy Pink Pony, 1355 Chain Bridge Road.

Chanukah on Ice: Pentagon Row and Chabad Lubavitch of Alexandria-Arlington are hosting Chanukah on Ice from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Admission is $10 in advance or $12 at the door. The event features the lighting of a giant menorah at 7 p.m., a raffle for a 7-inch tablet and hot latkes, kosher hot dogs and other refreshments. More info here.

Annie: The McLean High School Theatre Co. presents "Annie," a musical based on the popular comic strip character about the little orphan of the same name. The first of seven shows is 7 p.m. Friday in the 700-seat Burke Auditorium at McLean High School, 1633 Davidson Road. Performances run through Dec. 7. Tickets are $10 for students and seniors and $15 for adults. More info here.

Thanksgiving Day Trot for Hunger: Beginning at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Freedom Plaza, between 13th Street NW and 12th Street NW in Washington. Sponsored by SOME (So Others Might Eat), this popular 5K fun run and family walk benefits programs for the homeless and helps provide more than 800 meals to the hungry every day of the year. More info here. And click here for our complete guide of regional turkey trots.
