This Week: Walk and Bike to School, Discuss the Future of Libraries and More

Estate Protection: Kay Bransford with the McLean Senior Source will walk through the key steps in collecting financial information and protecting assets. Learn how to find out if you are entitled to unclaimed funds, how to collect and organize paperwork and more. Chesterbrook PTA Fundraiser: HBC's Community Charity Champions is hosting a dinner fundraiser at 5 p.m. Tuesday to support the Chesterbrook Elementary School PTA. Enjoy dinner at Pulcinella the Italian Host, 6852 Old Dominion Drive, and bring a flier to ensure that about 70 percent of the proceeds from your food and drinks go to Chesterbrook. Walk and Bike to School Day: Wednesday is International Walk and Bike to School Day, and all five McLean elementary schools are participating. (See a list with contact information here.) Fairfax County Public Schools are participating in the event for the third consecutive year. Parents are encouraged to accompany their children to school. More information here.

Future of Fairfax County Libraries: The League of Women Voters of the Fairfax Area will host a discussion of the future of the county's library system at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Star Nut Cafe, 1445 Laughlin Ave., McLean. Trees 101 in Great Falls: At 2 p.m. Sunday, join the Great Falls Citizens Association on its first-ever Village Tree Walk. Two members will lead a group walk through quiet village streets, point out major native trees and discuss their major characteristics. The free guided tour should last about an hour.
