Teddy Bear Trot and Four Other Things You Can't Miss This Weekend

Five things in and around Northern Virginia this weekend.

Teddy Bear Trot: Register for the Teddy Bear 5K & 1K Fun Walk/Run this Sunday at 4 p.m. at the American Legion Building, 400 N. Oak St. in Falls Church. Proceeds support the Falls Church-McLean Children's Center, a nonprofit preschool celebrating its 45th year of serving all children, regardless of their family's resources. Make Paella: Learn to make paella at Arlington’s La Tasca, 2900 Wilson Blvd. The $65 fee includes a tapas dinner and drinks as well as tax and gratuity. The event runs from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. 703-812-9120.

Turkish Festival: The 11th annual Turkish Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday on Pennsylvania Avenue NW, between 12th and 14th streets, in Washington, D.C. Live dance and music performances as well as a coffee house, fortune tellers and more. More info here.

Go for a Walk: Take a walk along the C&O Canal, which runs along the Potomac River west from Rock Creek Park and extends into Maryland. It's a great way to enjoy the fall weather and changing leaves. For a list of sites near the canal, see the National Park Service website.
