McLean Post 270 was established in 1946 after a group WWII veterans return home from the war in the Europe and in the Pacific.
The Post was granted its charter as a duly recognized American Legion Post in December 1949.
Members now include veterans from World War II to the war in Afghanistan.
Purpose of the American Legion: support veterans of all wars, the community and youth.
