Kumon says it is the world's largest after-school math and reading program. It offers remedial and enrichment programs. Kumon was started in Japan in 1958 by a teacher. The first US center opened in 1974 in suburban New York. It's now an international company with locations in 47 countries and regions serving more than four million children. This Kumon Center is located in an office building in downtown McLean.
