We walked into this store, very excited, willing to be amazed by some of the world's best pianos for the first time. When a salesperson approached us and asked if we needed assistance, my boyfriend kindly told him that we were just looking around and we were not to purchase a piano that day. He later told me that most salespersons work on commission so he did not intend to waste his time. The salesperson mumbled something that I do not recall now, but I had this feeling back then that we were not going to have a good time there.

However, we still walked around the store, even after he walked to me again-only this time he asked me to take my leather clutch off the piano cover, we apologized. I finally sat in front of an Essex and started to play something. The same salesperson walked from my back and said to my face--"That's enough, (paraphrase from here) you should stop since you are not make a purchase today". That was less than 3 minutes after I sat on the bench. I paused and told him I do not see a sign of no touch and this should not be the way to run this store. He walked away, and I finished the song.

My boyfriend and I were the only customers at the store and we were tried to be gotten rid of after three min. My experience at this store is shockingly disturbing. It is disturbing in a way that some sales personnel can be so short visioned, and yet dressed up to be a higher form of being to represent Steinway's 150 years of reputation. It is a shame.
