to DGeorge: How would you know that? I do know that most of what he/she posts is totallyRead More riduculous and off the wall....however.....
Dave Webster June 17, 2013 at 07:45 pm
Herring's seat would certainly be up for grabs. That being said, it's hard to assert the DemocratsRead More shot themselves in the foot. It's not like they had any number of competent candidates capable of being Attorney General. They had two.
James Dunning June 17, 2013 at 11:15 pm
This article does not make sense. There is no way that a Democrat could ever shoot anything. TheRead More sad saps don't even know which end of the gun the bullet "eggscapes" from. So I think the odds of them shooting anything other than their incorrect mouths off is as likely as a 16 year old eating sushi in Del Ray.

Grande Lane is in Falls Church, not McLean.

Interesting Virginia DUI fact. Sitting in a parked car, with the engine running, while intoxicatedRead More constitutes DUI under Virginia law. The statute refers to "operating" a motor vehicle and this has been determined to mean operating any system in the car such as the heater or radio.

The special actually is Sunday according to their (BGR"S) tweet and not today Saturday.

Locally Involved, it would seem PJ and I are not timid in sharing our names. Why show such vehemenceRead More in your response. I speaking for myself prefer the many Founding Fathers who did use their names such as John Hancock, who signed his name BIG on our Constitution so King George would not need his spectacles. Last time I looked this was still America where one is free to subscribe to whatever one liked. Oh, by the way America not Amerika, and don't get me started on persecutions! Happy Fathers Day to all who celebrate.

Denise I am not a homemaker who really has nothing to lose business wise, unlike your husband whoRead More of he freely expressed himself on a public forum may endanger certain relationships. Pseudonyms are and have been an American tradition since the inception of our country. There is absolutely nothing vehement in my previous post. I do continuously find it endlessly amusing that the older residents of McLean are so agitated over the growing democrat leaning voters in our midsts. Must have been devastating for you when our town voted in the majority for Obama. But then, anyone that donates to candidates such as Allen West is not of the standard bearing GOP, but definitely far right. The town has changed, the country has changed. The far right extremism and fear mongering that began over a decade ago is ending. Thankfully.

Funny, the first thing I thought of when I saw your initial post was how much you reminded me of aRead More Founding Father. Amazing.

What does it cost to put a police helicopter with its crew in the air? And they used it to hunt downRead More a dog???
Dan G June 16, 2013 at 02:01 pm
Although I am sure you would like to ridicule the Fairfax County Police Department, the helicopterRead More is frequently already in the air when incidents arise. Their flight crew regularly conducts patrols with the helicopter, which helps with response time to incidents. Sorry, I am sure this isn't the answer you were looking for. Surely you can find something else to complain about.
David Barry June 17, 2013 at 02:04 am
The police are great. I do not ridicule them nor do I wish to do so. This was a waste. The countyRead More officials need to have a more reasonable policy on use of expensive resources. For example, use a helicopter to look for the brutal muggers attacking humans on the pathways of Reston.
Beth Lawton (Editor) June 13, 2013 at 08:13 pm
This applies to Herndon, Reston, McLean, Falls Church, Fairfax City, Oakton and several surroundingRead More communities.

Why does the Patch often list events that are more than 23 hours old? Why bother?
Karen Goff (Editor) June 14, 2013 at 05:17 pm
This story was posted when the storm was on its way, when it was important and immediate news forRead More readers. You are just choosing to read it 24 hours later.

Remember also if the storms bring down power lines, these will do likewise to telephone and cableRead More TV. Cell phone service can be knocked out from both lack of emergency power and destruction of cell towers.
