Update: Bank Auction Cancelled for McLean Mega-mansion

Original Post The owner of a McLean mansion on the Potomac River has foreclosed on the 20,000 square foot house, named just months ago the third most expensive home in the D.C. area by Washingtonian magazine. The home, at 201 Chain Bridge Rd., will hit the auction block at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 27 in the Arlington County Circuit Court Courthouse. (The home is actually located in Arlington County, but carries a McLean address and a McLean ZIP code.) Virginia Leaders React to Supreme Court Ruling on Affordable Care Act

High Court ruled 5-4 today to uphold what some call 'Obamacare.'

Area leaders were quick to react today to the news that the Supreme Court upheld President Barack Obama's health reform law. Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R): "Today's Supreme Court ruling is extremely disappointing for Virginia and for America. The PPACA will create a costly and cumbersome system that will impair our country's ability to recover from these challenging economic times, infringes on our citizen's liberties, will harm small businesses, and will impose dramatic unfunded mandates on Virginia and all states. Survey: Fairfax County Healthiest in Virginia

Socio-economic factors play big role in health of population, health ranking report shows.

For the third year in a row, Fairfax County outranked all of Virginia's other cities and counties as the healthiest in the state, according to a new survey being released Tuesday. Northern Virginia fared well in the study, with Arlington coming in second and Loudoun County coming in third.  Socio-economic factors accounted for 40 percent of Fairfax County's top spot, said Julie Willems Van Dijk, associate scientist at the University of Wisconsin's Population Health Institute, who is part of the survey team. The 2012 County HealthRankings, produced by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, ranks the health of counties in all 50 states according to how healthy people are and how long …
