New Commander Arrives January 30
Capt. Dan Janickey starts his new job as the McLean District Police Commander a week from today. He stopped by last week to visit with the Citizens Advisory Committee to the police district. Capt. Janickey, a 23-year veteran of the Fairfax police department, is now the commander of Special Operations, which includes the swat team, bomb team and the negotiations team. “It’s been a lot of high stress and high call situation,” he said of the job he's held for three years. "I'm certainly looking forward" to returning to McLean he said. "I've always liked working patrol.” He said he also looks forward to working with the community.
