Rodney Hunt Estate Auction Canceled

The region's most expensive foreclosed home was to be auctioned Thursday by Tranzon Fox; the auction was canceled Wednesday evening.

The scheduled Thursday foreclosure auction for the region's most expensive foreclosed home—the Rodney Hunt Estate in McLean—has been canceled. The auction for the home was canceled Wednesday evening by auction house Tranzon Fox, The Washington Post reported Thursday morning. No reason for the cancelation was given. According to an earlier auction listing, the home  features "10 fireplaces, elevator, high ceilings and massive windows that expose breathtaking views and plentiful natural light. A beautiful gourmet kitchen with huge center island is ideal for entertaining family and friends. The kitchen offers exquisite cabinetry and quality countertops. Update: Bank Auction Cancelled for McLean Mega-mansion

This 20,000 square foot home includes two bowling alley lanes, indoor and outdoor pools and a movie theater.

Update, 6 p.m. Sept. 26 Transzon Fox, the company facilitating this bank auction, has cancelled the event, originally scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Original Post The owner of a McLean mansion on the Potomac River has foreclosed on the 20,000 square foot house, named just months ago the third most expensive home in the D.C. area by Washingtonian magazine. The home, at 201 Chain Bridge Rd., will hit the auction block at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 27 in the Arlington County Circuit Court Courthouse. (The home is actually located in Arlington County, but carries a McLean address and a McLean ZIP code.)
