Appointment ends a two-year search.
A new musical director takes the baton at the McLean Orchestra Sunday after a two-year search. The orchestra has named Miriam Burns, currently the music director of the Orchestra of the Redeemer in New York City and former music director of the Kenosha Symphony, as its new director. 40th Season Commences with a Concert at Vinson Hall
With a boom of a cymbal and a roll of a drum, the McLean Orchestra is set to perform its second annual "Musical Salute to Our Military." The orchestra will play a rousing patriotic selection at Vinson Hall on Old Dominion Drive, Saturday. The slate of music includes standards such as “America the Beautiful” in addition to military marches and polkas. In support of our nation’s military, the event will take place at Vinson Hall, an independent living facility for retired military offices and their families. The auditorium seats approximately 120 people so space is limited. About half the attendees are expected to be residents.
