Will donating to charity ever be as popular as shopping during the holiday season? A partnership of nonprofits hopes so. Several Northern Virginia nonprofits are among those using their websites and social media to kick off the first ever Giving Tuesday. Connect with Northern Virginia organizations that need food, volunteers in aftermath of derecho
Several area organizations, centers and homes in Northern Virginia are going on more than 48 powers without power, drinkable water, or in some cases, food or resources. We're compiling a list of these groups that need food, water, fans or volunteers over the next several days. Post information about local groups in need in the comments or email erica.hendry at patch.com to be added to the list.
