May Historic Month for Patch

Online local news platform reaches record number of readers, advertising.

Patch, AOL’s local news, information and engagement platform, announced Monday that May was the most successful traffic and revenue period in the company’s history. Patch served a record 11.7 million users in May according to comScore, which represents a 14-percent increase over April (10.3 million users) and an 11-percent increase over its previous traffic record (10.6 million users in August 2011). HuffPost DC Launches, Will Showcase Stories From Area Patches

Washington is the Huffington Post's sixth local site

The Huffington Post launched its latest local site for original and aggregated content in Washington, D.C., on Thursday – a move that could strengthen the region’s network of Patch sites. Both are owned by AOL.
