Local Democrats gathered Sunday in McLean for a fundraising reception to benefit Democrat Kristin Cabral, who is running for Congress. Meanwhile, incumbent Congressman Frank R. The student body at Longfellow Middle School gathered outside to hear Smith, of Mclean, play Taps in the cool, fall-like morning. Smith first played at Haycock Elementary School at 8:46 a.m., the precise time when American Airlines Flight 11 hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center in Manhattan.
