Cold, Cloudy New Year's Week Forecast

New Year's Eve partiers will want to bundle up.

New Year’s Eve may be the warmest day of the week across Northern Virginia, weather forecasters predict. Monday’s high temperature will be in the mid-40s with mostly cloudy skies. The wind that whipped through the area over the weekend has largely diminished. New Year’s Eve partiers will want to bundle up: Temperatures are expected to drop to 30 degrees by the time the clock strikes midnight, according to the National Weather Service. Those high and low temperatures are right in line with the average temperatures for this time of year in Northern Virginia, according to climate data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
