On the Blog Post Want to Warn Others About McLean Immediate Care

ReplyI have been to McLean Imm Care several times, I know it's an $88 just to walk in the door & they don't take insurance (your insur does NOT reimburse you -I've checked with 3 plans & it goes "to your deductible"). In March, my 3 yr old cut the area just to the right of his right eye. The eye wasn't injured but I thought he may need dermabond (I didn't think he needed stitches). I asked if the Dr. could look at it to see if we even needed treatment & if the Dr said no we wouldn't have to wait that whole time. They said there was no wait & took us back about 4 or 5 mins later. Dr. cleaned it up & put ONE layer of dermabond. My son was crying (dermabond stings) so she stopped & said he didn't need another layer. I was w/the Dr. LESS THAN 5 MINUTES! I went to pay & they said $400 ! $400?? I asked her if she was joking be/c I truly believed she was. Then I asked her how could she tell me that w/ a straight face. She said it was considered an "emergency visit." It wasn't an emergency. There was no one there & I wasn't even sure I needed treatment! I said I'm not paying $400 & the manager reduced the bill to $250. $250 is ridiculous! I was so mad I just pd & walked out. I looked at my clock & I had been inside a total of 17 mins!
I know you pay a premium here be/c they don't take insurance and the service is generally pretty quick, but $250 for one swipe of dermabond and a 5 min visit with the Dr. is absolutely absurd. -

ReplyThis article seems to me to be about 10% informational (vote results) and about 90% of trying to stir up trouble. So the vote numbers will be released tomorrow or Monday....What's the big deal? If there are such compelling reasons on why the vote totals should be released earlier, then at least state those reasons in this article!

ReplyFirst let me say I am not a big Santorum supporter. That said, how is this news? You talk about him taking out a loan in Feb. 2010 and then about a month later, March 2010, the 1.5 million previous loan was paid. But wait, he carried notes worth 2.5 mil on his house he bought for 2.0 mil for 30 days and somehow that is wrong! Did you ever think it was probably paid when he took out the loan in Feb. 2010 but it took the county about a month to record it? REALLY! This is quite a partisian article and it seems that almost every political article I read on Patch is always against Republicans! Every transaction detailed above sounds absolutely normal. No where does it mention was he in default. He has repaid his loans and there was a time not long ago that the banks would lend up to 107% of the value of your home! Why is this Patch's business? So he bought through a trust? Many celebs/politicans do. As an attorney, I would advise my client to do just that as well if it made sense in the situation. Patch you need to do a better job of being bi-partisan.

ReplyWhere are the details about Pam Danner's fundraiser? Certainly you are a fair reporter and will post the exact same details about her latest event as well, RIGHT?
