I've been working on open government issues for nearly 20 years, since I was a 3rd year law student and I did an internship for the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. Since then, I've been a writer and editor at a newspaper for lawyers in Texas, a freelance writer for the National Law Journal and an adjunct professor of media law at Hampton University's journalism school. I've worked with VCOG since 1998 under founding director Frosty Landon, and have been the organization's executive director since 2008.

I live in Williamsburg with my husband, son and cat.
