Police Confirm Body Found at Scott's Run Nature Preserve

Teen boy dies after apparent suicide.

McLean-area residents driving by Scott's Run Nature Preserve were surprised Monday to see numerous police cars and other official vehicles in the area.

The park, run by the Fairfax County Park Authority, is located at 7400 Georgetown Pike in McLean.

Fairfax County Police confirmed Tuesday morning that the body of a teenage boy was found at Scott's Run Nature Preserve on Monday afternoon at about 1:15 p.m.

"We feel there is no public safety threat," said police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell, who confirmed that a body was found.

A cause and manner of death were to be determined.
