Police Say McLean High Sophomore Started Underage Porn Site

Police are investigating case. Some photos of nude classmates were reportedly circulated using Dropbox.

Police are investigating the actions of a 16-year-old male sophomore and a senior male classmate at McLean High School who were allegedly running an underage porn site using photos of classmates, according to a story in The Washington Post.

Information in the Post story, obtained from search warrants filed by police in Fairfax County Circuit Court, says that the 16-year-old reportedly got help from a senior at the school. The two were allegedly using Dropbox to store and share the photos, with the sophomore reportedly in charge of the account, the story noted.

As of Friday, no charges have been filed against either student, according to FCPD spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell. She said Monday morning the investigation is ongoing.

The site was discovered by police on May 13, after a student told a school resource officer about it when she was emailed a link to it, the Post story said. Caldwell noted Monday morning that the site was shut down within 24 hours of police discovering it. Not all students whose photos were on the site have been identified.

It's uncertain if McLean High School has taken disciplinary action against the two boys. John Torre, Fairfax County Public Schools spokesman, said FCPS is not commenting on the case.

Anyone with information about the photos or activity is asked to contact police, Caldwell said.
