UPDATE: Movie Star Wraps Up Day of McLean Filming, Signs Autographs, Returns Saturday

UPDATE 5:51pm. Ben Affleck and his crew just wrapped up a day of filming on a West McLean Street. He signed autographs and took pictures with fans --mostly young girls.

The crew will be filming in McLean throughout the weekend.

UPDATE: Just confirmed that movie star Ben Affleck is spending the afternoon in McLean shooting a movie set in the 1980's.

Some streets in West McLean blocked off.

According to the Internet Movie Database, Affleck is filming "Argo," which is about the effort to free six Americans trapped in Iran during the 1979 revolution and sheltered by the Canadian ambassador.

IMDB says Affleck is directing the movie as well as portraying "Tony Mendez." Tony Mendez is a former CIA officer who speaks at the Spy Museum in Washington, D.C.

ORIGINAL STORY: Movie star Ben Affleck is reportedly in McLean this afternoon shooting a movie.

A movie camera is setup in front of a house on Springvale in West McLean, which is a lovely community adjacent to downtown McLean.

Heavy police presence. Streets are blocked. Also large trucks have reduced Ingleside Avenue beside the Giant Shopping Center to one lane.
