A tornado watch is in effect until 11 pm for Fairfax county, Northern Virginia.

McLean forecast for this evening: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 8pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 8pm and midnight, then a chance of showers after midnight. Some of the storms could be severe and produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a low around 59. South wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
