Fairfax County alerted residents that at I-66 WB at I-495 (Exit #64)  a vehicle accident involving a fuel spill, per VDOT was totally blocking traffic about 12:45 pm.

Emergency crews are on scene, hazmat crews are enroute.  Be advised, reportedly there is no access to I-66 Westbound from the Inner Loop or Outer Loop, the county said.

WTOP reported that traffic taking I-66 to Dulles Airport should be able to take the Dulles Connector Road (route 267) exit before encountering the backups on Route 66.

Major delays involved for Beltway traffic. Pack the patience.
