Georgetown Pike Tree Trimming Causes Lane Closings

VDOT Working Wednesday Morning

VDOT starts trimming trees along Georgetown Pike Wednesday morning causing partial lane closures  after the morning rushhour.

All work will be done between 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. There will be VDOT supervisory personnel on site at all times.

The tree trimming will occur along  Georgetown Pike from Old Dominion Drive to the Capital Beltway. There will be partial lane closures at various times to be controlled by a flagger, says a note from Dranesville Supervisor John Foust.

What are they doing? Removing of dead trees within VDOT right-of-way and  limbs that overhang the road at a height of approximately 15 feet.
