Tonight: Beltway Lane Closings, Expect Delays
Beltway Lane Closed for Overhead Subway Track Construction
The three right lanes of the Beltway (I-495) going north will be closed tonight, Thursday and Friday nights.
The Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project work will be under way, completing the subway tracks that soar above the Beltway in their way into Tysons Corner. The tracks for the new Silver Line run along Route 123.
Wednesday, June 15: Three right lanes of northbound I-495, 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Thursday, June 16: Three right lanes of northbound I-495, 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Friday, June 17: Three right lanes of northbound I-495, 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Saturday, June 18: None.
Sunday, June 19: Two right lanes of southbound I-495, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Traffic will be allowed to pass through this interchange in the remaining open lane. Expect traffic backups and delays in this area. All ramps to and from Route 123 will remain open.
Police will be on site. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution, and pay attention to the signs.
