Traffic Alert: Overnite: Beltway Lane Closings, Disruptions for Traffic Crossing Route 7

This week's traffic tangles throughout McLean and Tysons Corner brought to you by the HOT Lanes and the Metro construction.

I-495 north at Old Dominion overpass - Three left lanes closed Monday and Tuesday nights for overhead sign installation. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

I-495 north or south at Lewinsville Rd. overpass - Three lanes closed Monday - Saturday nights for demolition. Expect intermittent full road closures of up to 30 minutes after midnight.

Bridge Construction along Median of Route 7 Continues, Two Major Intersections to Be Closed Overnights This Week
 
Construction of the aerial guideway in the median of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) in Tysons Corner will continue overnight Monday through Friday, resulting in the closures of the middle of both the Tyco Road/Westwood Center Drive and Westpark Drive/Gosnell Road intersections.
 
Thru traffic along both directions of Route 7 will not be affected, but thru traffic on Tyco Road/Westwood Center Drive and Westpark Drive/Gosnell Road will not be permitted. Detour information is as follows:
 
Tyco Road/Westwood Center Drive Closures - 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Southbound Tyco Road thru traffic and drivers wishing to turn left on to eastbound Route 7 will be directed to turn right on westbound Route 7, U-turn at Jarrett Valley Drive to access both eastbound Route 7 and Westwood Center Drive. As a courtesy to the neighborhood, please do not use Jarrett Valley Drive or private property as a turnaround;
Northbound Westwood Center Drive thru traffic and drivers wishing to turn left on to westbound Route 7 will be directed to turn right on eastbound Route 7, U-turn at Spring Hill Road to access both westbound Route 7 and Tyco Road.

Westpark Drive/Gosnell Road Closures - 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Southbound Westpark Drive thru traffic and drivers wishing to turn left on to eastbound Route 7 will be directed to turn right on westbound Route 7, U-turn at Spring Hill Road to access both eastbound Route 7 and Gosnell Road;
Northbound Gosnell Road thru traffic and drivers wishing to turn left on to westbound Route 7 will be directed to turn right on eastbound Route 7, left on International Drive, left on Route 123, then exit to Route 7, to access both westbound Route 7 and Westpark Drive.

Right Lane of Southbound Route 123, Ramp to Northbound I-495 to Close Overnights
 
Southbound Route 123 in Tysons Corner will be closed between Capital One Drive and the east side of I-495 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday to Friday,  for overhead bridge construction.
 
In addition, the on-ramp from southbound Route 123 to northbound I-495 also will be closed on those nights from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. To access I-495 North, traffic will be detoured to continue on southbound Route 123, right on International Drive, right on Galleria Drive, right on Tysons Boulevard, then left on to northbound Route 123 to the second exit on to northbound I-495.
 
Eastbound Tysons Boulevard to Close Monday through Friday Nights
 
The eastbound lanes of Tysons Boulevard will be closed between Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) and Galleria Drive Monday through Friday nights, Jan. 23-27, for overhead bridge, pier and station work near the future Tysons Central 123 station.
 
This also will require the closures of the turn lanes on to eastbound Tysons Boulevard from northbound Chain Bridge Road (Route 123), and northbound and southbound Galleria Drive. Generally, these lane closures will begin to be implemented at 9:30 p.m. each night, and will be lifted between 5 a.m. each following morning.
 
Detours around this closure will be in place. Please use extreme caution, pay attention to signage, and obey police direction if traveling around this intersection.

Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) west to I-495 north - Ramp closed Monday - Saturday nights for bridge demolition. Prior to work zone, traffic will be directed to take Exit 19A, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) south and follow signs to I-495 north.

Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east to I-495 north - Ramp from Monday - Saturday nights for bridge demolition. Traffic will be directed to take I-495 south to Exit 46B, Chain Bridge Rd. (Route 123) north, stay to the right and follow signs to I-495 north.

Dulles Connector Rd. (Route 267) east at I-495 - Two left lanes closed Wednesday and Thursday nights for bridge demolition and overhang work.
