Update: McLean Community Center Releases Report

Help us with Voter Guide Questions

The McLean Community Center released a copy of  its $27,000 taxpayer-funded survey of McLean residents to McLean Patch yesterday.

We filed a Freedom of Information request for a copy of the complete report on your behalf last week. Board member,Risa Sanders,  refused to give taxpayers a copy of the report or a powerpoint presentation summarizing the report, both of which were presented at public meeting of her Communications Committee last week.

We're digesting the interesting report and will have a story early next week. In the meantime, we urge the neighbors to request their own copies of the complete report. The Freedom of Information law is for you ---- to give you access to public documents.

You can e-mail Sanders, who is running for reelection, at risasanders@mcleancenter.org. Or Sabrina Anwah <Sabrina.Anwah@fairfaxcounty.gov>, who is the Freedom of Information Officer for the Community Center.

Secondly, we're preparing a Voters Guide for the May 21 Community Center Board elections for you.

We want to ask each of the four adult candidates three questions. Please tell us what you want us to ask the candidates. Just post your question at the top of our right-hand column or send us an e-mail, bobbi.bowman@patch.com.

Board candidates usually hold no rallies and make no public appearances. This is a very low-key election. This may be your only chance to ask the candidates a question unless you see them in the grocery store.

We'll collect the questions. Determine which are the  most popular and send them to the candidates.
