  • Lists are based on early morning work plans for crews. However, needs often change during a major restoration and crews stay on the move. They may visit, leave and return to some locations, and may perform work at locations not shown on today's list.
  • The lists do not feature specific addresses, such as customer homes. Crews are sent to specific locations to repair devices/equipment on our system that supply homes and businesses.

If you are without power by 5 p.m please let us know in comment.

McLean Patch will continue to report on outages until all the neighbors have their power restored.

ORIGINAL STORY: 5:59 am. More than 1,000 McLean residents remained powerless Wednesday night as Dominion Power crews continued to restore power lines in the area. The total number of Fairfax county residents still without power stood at less than 10,000 as of 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Dominion Power said virtually all power should be restored by Friday.

"We remain on track to reach our advanced targets to restore service for virtually all customers in Northern Virginia and the Richmond metro area by Friday night," said Rodney Blevins, vice president–Electric Distribution Operations. "In a few instances, work in Northern Virginia may continue into Saturday where there was extreme damage.

In McLean:

  • Towlston Road  are remains a problem with an estimated 400 customers still without power as of Wednesday evening.
  • Dranesville Supervisor John Foust is still without power along with about 80 neighbors in the vicinity of Swinks Mill Road. Foust, who worked today, says he has a cool basement, hot water and an air-conditioned office.
  • A large outage continued in Tysons Corner.

More updates:

1. Note from Dranesville Supervisor John Foust:  "My staff and I have been in the office all day. We heard from several residents early but it has gotten quiet. We have had numerous communications with Dominion to check on status of outages we previously reported and location of their resources in the field. Based on feedback from residents and Dominion, I feel good progress is now being made."

Del. Barbara Comstock, R-34, sent out updates on Great Falls, Vienna and Loudoun.

3. A McLean neighbor shared this: I saw about 4 or 5 cherry picker trucks working on Lemon Road today (Wednesday) from PIKE Electric.

"I stopped to thank the crew. Then I went home to send them an email thanking them for coming to help us out. PIKE is from North Carolina, the crew member I talked to came from Georgia. These men and women are Godsends and maybe we need a groundswell to send them our thanks. I'm sure other power companies are around, but PIKE is the one I happened upon," the Patch reader wrote in an email.
