Green Innovation Award Winner –Beth Chung

McLean Chamber of Commerce Awards

The Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce annually  honors community and business leaders for their outstanding service to McLean. Seventeen men and women, our neighbors, received awards in a recent ceremony for their amazing work. McLean Patch is profiling each winner by publishing the citations awarded to each.

Beth Chung is the principal consultant for My Green Expert, guiding individuals, companies and schools as they “go green.”  Her expertise includes green product sourcing, green project design, and recycling management.  She spent six years raising capital and project funds for The Nature Conservancy, a leading international conservation nonprofit.  As an author Beth has written three books on environmental topics--spanning topics from green homes to community land use planning—and contributes “The Green Life” column to Viva Tysons magazine.

Beth currently volunteers for MCA’s Environment Committee, Green McLean, the Salona Task Force, and the McLean Land Conservancy (MLC).  The MLC acquires conservation easements to help preserve the Potomac River watershed.  She coaches students for Science Olympiad and leads hands-on environmental service projects with Girl Scouts and students.  She lives with her family in an award-winning green home surrounded by an acre of certified wildlife habitat and water-conserving rain gardens.
